Mario Tronti, politician, philosopher and intellectual Italian communist, has been one of the inspirers of operaism and one of the most original Marxist thinkers of the second half of the twentieth century. He participates in the early 1960s in the founding of the Quaderni Rossi and subsequently directs the magazine classe operaia between 1964 and 1965. He has taught political philosophy at the University of Siena for over thirty years and chaired the Fondazione Centro per la Riforma dello Stato between 2004 and 2015. He is currently a senator of the Italian Republic.
