Martin Kitchen is a historian and the author of numerous books on World War II, the Cold War, and the history of Germany and Modern Europe, including Rommel's Desert War (2009), A History of Modern Germany, 1800- 2000 (2006), Europa between the wars (2006), and A world in flames: a concise history of the Second World War in Europe and Asia (1990). He is currently Emeritus Professor of History at Simon Fraser University and lives in British Columbia.
