After training at the National Service (photographic section of the RAF), Michael Langford (1933-2000) moved into the world of journalistic and industrial photography. In 1959 he began his teaching career at Ealing Technical College, and in 1967 he began teaching at the Royal College of Art, until his retirement in August 1997. He is best known for his textbooks on photography, translated into numerous languages and indisputable references for many photographers and amateurs.
