PhD in Social Theory and Politics from the University of Cambridge (King's College), she is currently a researcher in the Department of Sociology of the university. Previously she has been Professor of Politics at Queen Mary University of London (2005-2016). She has also been visiting professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations of the University of Cambridge and member of the Management Council of the Canada Blanch Center (London School of Economics), as well as visiting professor in the Policy Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2015 -2016). His works include the books The Identity of Nations (2009), Catalan Nationalism (2004) and Nations without States. Political Communities in a Global Age (1999), as well as the conference "Francoism: a portrait of a dictatorship", given at the Center for Governance and International Studies (Harvard University).
