Muhammad Yunus

Muhammad Yunus was born in 1940 in Chittagong, Blangladesh, the economic center of what was then East Bengal. Founder of Grameen Bank, won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to the eradication of poverty and social justice. Yumus was also Prince of Asturias Award for Concord in 1998.
His book Banker to the poor. Microcredit and the battle against world poverty that helped introduce the international economic agenda in small steps to make capitalism more and more just social system, has also been published by Polity Press.
