Neil Smith (1954-2012), born in Scotland, devoted much of his academic activity to teaching at the University of New York. The lines of his work were mainly oriented to the critical analysis of recent urban transformations, as well as to the conformation and subsequent crisis of the globalization process. It is precise to emphasize that all his work was closely connected and informed by his militancy and political concerns. Not yet published in Spanish should highlight his last two books: Endgame of Globalization (2005) and American Empire: Roosevelt's Geographer and the Prelude to Globalization (2002).
