Nickolas Butler (1979) was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He has a degree from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. He has published the novels Canciones de amor a marropa (Libros del Asteroid, 2014), which became an international bestseller; The Heart of Men (Books of the Asteroid, 2017; nominated for the Médicis Étranger Prize); Something to believe in (Asteroid Books,
2020) and Good luck (Libros del Asteroid, 2022); and the storybook Beneath the Bonfire (2015). His work, translated into several languages, has received various awards and his texts have appeared in The New York Times Review, Narrative Magazine and Plowshares, among other publications. He lives in Wisconsin with his wife and his two children.
