Graduated from the bachelor's degree in history from UNAM, a phD from the University of Texas at Austin and a professor at Columbia University, Pablo Piccato has dealt with Mexico's social and cultural history, with special attention in a sore always open in the country: the commission of crimes and their treatment in public opinion and in the legal field; he has also studied the links between the press and literature. He has been a professor at universities in Brazil, Argentina, France and Mexico. He's the author of Suspect City. Crime in Mexico City, 1900-1931 (2011) and The Tyranny of Opinion. Honor in the construction of the public sphere in Mexico (2015).
