Padma Sambhava

Padma Sambhava

Padmasambhava (Sanskrit, "Born of the lotus") is the founder of the Tibetan school of Nyingma Buddhism in the 8th century.

In Bhutan and Tibet (where disciples of the Nyingma school mainly, but also those of other schools and the Tibetan people in general, recognize him as the second Buddha) he is more commonly known as Guru Rinpoche or the Precious Teacher.
