Peter Jones was educated at Cambridge University and was a professor of Classics at the Universities of Cambridge and Newcastle, before retiring in 1997. For years he wrote a column in Spectator, 'Ancient & Modern', and is the author of numeroros books on classics, including bestsellers Learn Latin and Ancient Greek Learn, Vote for Caesar and Virgil's Aeneid Reading I and II.
