Meirieu Philippe, born in 1949, has been a teacher, high school teacher and vocational training. He is currently a lecturer in science education. Among its members and professional activities, he was responsible for an experimental school, editor of Cahiers Pédagogiques and teacher educator. He created the university teacher training institutes in France and worked hard in school curricula and pedagogy issues. His current research activity focuses on the history and philosophy of education, and issues related to democratization of school and training. Parallel to his academic activities, he is currently Vice-Alps region Roine, delegate for lifelong learning.
