Germanista Pierre Bertaux was a French politician and member of French Resistance, born on October 8, 1907 in Lyon (Rhône Department) and died on August 14, 1986 in St.-Cloud (Hauts de Seine). Member of several cabinets leftist governments, was Commissioner of the Republic during the liberation of Toulouse, and was awarded the medal of Officer of the Legion of Honor, Croix de guerre 1939-1945, and Companion of the Liberation.
