Raewyn Connell is Professor in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney, earlier it was of Sociology, University of California, Santa Cruz, also at Harvard University in the USA and at Macquarie University in Sydney Australia. She is the author of numerous publications and research on educational issues, among which titles like: Making the Difference: Schools, Families and Social Division (1982), Teacher's Work (1985), Running Twice as Hard (1991) Measuring Up: Assessment , Evaluation and Educational Disadvantage (1992). He also works on issues of gender and class, an example of this are works such as Gender and Power (1987), Class Structure in Australian History (1992) and Masculinities (1995).
