Rafael Segovia

Raphael Segovia. He was born in Spain in 1928 and, after the civil war, he arrived in Mexico in 1940. He studied history at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAM under Edmundo O'Gorman, and later studied history at the University of Paris and in the School of Political Science. From 1951, he practiced teaching and research. From 1962 to 2018 he was Professor-Researcher at the Center for International Studies of El Colegio de México and was the teacher of a large number of generations of students who have excelled in academia, politics and international relations. He was the General Academic Coordinator of the institution. He was a specialist in political science and political history and the author of several works on political education in Mexico, as well as a large number of academic and press articles on the national and international political situation.

He was appointed professor emeritus at El Colegio de México on August 31, 1995.
