Ralf Rothmann was born in 1953 in Schleswig and grew up in the Ruhr area. Poet and playwright, he is known above all for his novels and has received some of the most important prizes in German literature, such as the Heinrich Böll in 2005, the Max Frisch in 2006, the Walter Hasenclever in 2010, the Friedrich Hölderlin prize in 2013 or the Kleist Prize in 2017. Among his most important works are Wäldernacht (1994), Milch und Kohle (2000), Luz de youth (2004; Libros del Asteroid, 2018), Dying in Spring (2015; Libros del Asteroid, 2016) and Der Gott jenes Sommers (2018).
