Ramon Parés (1927) a degree in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona. He was Dean of the Faculty of Biology from 1968 to 1974. After working for 34 years teaching in 1998, after retirement, is in a position of professor emeritus of this university. Emeritus member of the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Barcelona, the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona and l'Institut d 'Catalan Studies. It is named Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Nancy (France) and awarded several medals for their scientific merit
He is the author of 14 books and over 200 research articles, as well as various outreach work, lectures and speeches. His scientific activity has been developed mainly in the Spanish, French and Swiss and to a lesser extent in Germany, Cuba and the United States.
