Doctor of History from UNAM and full-time professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the same university, Rebeca Villalobos Alvarez has been interested in the theory of history and the use of historical figures, such as Hidalgo or Bolivar, in political discourse. He has collaborated in academic and cultural journals, and in collective books; she is the author of Three Variations of Historicism in the 20th Century: Meinecke, Croce and O'Gorman (2017). He won the Edmundo O'Gorman Prize from INAH for his undergraduate (2005) and master's (2008) thesis, as well as the GAStón García Cantú Prize from INEHRM for doctorate (2016); he also received the National University distinction for Young Academics from UNAM (2017).
