Ricardo Chavez Castañeda was born in Mexico City in 1961. He studied Psychology at the UNAM, although, at the end of his career, he devoted himself to take literary creation workshops, attended the Sogem and, little by little, he was devoting himself to writing and teaching. In spite of it, he says himself a writer "who has been formed alone". His work has won countless awards and recognitions. He currently resides in the United States, where he is a professor of creative writing at Middlebury College, Vermont. In El Naranjo he has published The Book of Denial and The Hill of the Dead and other stories that tremble with fear.
