Richard P. Bentall, a PhD in Experimental Psychology from University College of North Wales, Bangor, diploma in clinical psychology from the University of Liverpool, and a degree in philosophy applied to health care from University College Swansea.
In 1989 he received the British Psychological Society's May Davidson Award for his contribution to clinical psychology. He is Professor of Experimental Clinical Psychology at the University of Manchester, editor of Reconstructing Schizophrenia (1990) and author of Madness Explained: Psychosis and Human Nature (2003).
