Roberto Blancarte

Roberto Blancarte. He was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, on August 29, 1957. He has a degree in International Relations from El Colegio de México (1981). He has a master's degree in History and Civilizations (1983) and a Doctorate in Social Sciences (1988) from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS), in Paris, France.

He is currently a research professor at the Center for Sociological Studies at El Colegio de México. He is also Associate Researcher of the Sociology of Religions and Secularity Group (GSRL), of the École Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE) de la Soborna (Paris), in addition to having been founder and advisor of the Interdisciplinary Program of Studies on Religions (PIER) of El Colegio Mexiquense. Since 2016 he is a member of the Board of Directors of El Colegio de Sinaloa. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (level III). He has been a member of the Council of the National Bioethics Commission and of the Governing Board and the Consultative Assembly of the National Council to Prevent Discrimination (CONAPRED).
