Roberto Gutiérrez Rodríguez is Professor-Researcher of the Department of Economics of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Iztapalapa, of which he was in charge from 2018 to 2022, and coordinator of the Master's and Doctorate in Social Studies Social Economy Line from 2016 to 2018, being Doctor in Social Economy for said program. He obtained an M.Phil in Industrial Economics and Technological Change from the University of Manchester, England. He is also a Master in Economics from the Center for Economic Research and Teaching; He graduated in Economics from the University of the Americas-Puebla and is a member of the National System of Researchers. He was the winner of the 2016 Foreign Trade Magazine award. Author of the books Los Avatares de la Deuda Externa de México (Mexico: UAM-Xochimilco, 1993) and El Comercio Intraindustrial Norte-Sur (Madrid: EAE, 2012); Coordinator of Present and Perspectives of the Mexican Energy Reform (Mexico: UAM-Iztapalapa, 2017), and co-coordinator of Energy Policy in Mexico. Problems and Prospects for the Future (New York: Routledge, 2019).
