Ronan Fitzsimons was born in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) in 1964. A graduate of the Universities of Sheeffield and Manchester, between 1991 and 1999 he was professor of Hispanic Studies at the University of Huddersfield, and now works at Nottingham Trent University. Lexicography apart, has translated books of various kinds, is the author of a novel The half update, and is preparing a book on contemporary poetry in the languages of Spain.
