Sandra Contreras

Rosario, 1963. Professor, Graduate and Doctor of Letters from the National University of Rosario, where she works as a professor of Argentine Literature I. She is an Independent Researcher at CONICET. In 1991 she founded, together with Adriana Astutti and Marcela Zanin, the publishing house Beatriz Viterbo, of which she was one of its directors until 2013. She edited and prefaced El excursionista del planeta. Travel writings by Lucio V. Mansilla (Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2012) and Realisms, critical issues (Center for Argentine Literature Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Arts, National University of Rosario, 2013). She is the author of Las vueltas de César Aira (Beatriz Viterbo, 2002) and Around realism and other essays (Nube Negra, 2018). She created the Center for the Study of Argentine Literature, which she directed between 2006 and 2017. She was director of the Master's Degree in Argentine Literature at the National University of Rosario between 2006 and 2012. She currently directs the Doctorate in Literature and Critical Studies at the National University of Rosario and the Institute of Critical Studies in Humanities of the National University of Rosario and CONICET.
