Sergio Givone

Sergio Givone born in Piedmont in 1944, he studied philosophy at Turin Luigi Pareyson. He was Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities at the University of Florence, where he currently teaches cosmetic. Alongside Massimo Cacciari, Carlo Sini and directs Vincenzo Vitiello Paradosso philosophy journal. In addition to numerous articles published in journals, is the author, among other books, the Storia della secondo philosophy Kant (1972), Hybris and melancholia (1974), William Blake. Art and religione (1978), Dostoevsky and philosophy (1984) and The quiestione romance (1992). Besides here is published, there Castilian editions of two of his works: History of aesthetics (1990) and Disenchantment of the world and tragic thought (1991). His philosophical novel Favella delle cose ultime won the Grinzane Cavour Book Award in 1998.
