Sergio Ortiz Leroux Doctor in Research in Social Sciences (mention in Political Science) from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (academic headquarters in Mexico). Member of the National System of Researchers (level 1), full-time professor-researcher at the Academy of Political Science and Urban Administration of the UACM. Subject Professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM. He has published the book In Defense of the Republic. Lessons in Republican Political Theory (Mexico, Ediciones Coyoacán, 2014) and coordinated the collective book, together with Julieta Marcone and Ángel Sermeño: Los vertigos de la Política: a review desde la Modernidad (Mexico, Ediciones Coyoacán, 2012). He has published more than 100 articles and/or essays in collective books, magazines specialized in Political Science and Political Theory and popular magazines. His lines of research in the area of Political Theory are: theory of democracy; republicanism and liberalism; and State, market and civil society. He was director of the magazine Andamios and founder and deputy director of the magazine Metalítico.
