Stanislav Grof is one of the founders of transpersonal psychology and a pioneering researcher in the use of altered states of consciousness for the purposes of healing, growth, and insight.
Stanislav Grof initiated his investigations into the use of LSD psychotherapy in 1960 at the Prague Psychiatric Research Institute.
He was director of psychiatric research at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Maryland, USA) and resident professor at the Esalen Institute (California, USA).
He currently directs the transpersonal training program and is a professor at the Institute of Integral Studies (California, USA). He is the creator with his wife Christina of Grof Transpersonal Training.
