Steve Erickson

Steven Erikson (October 15, 1959) is the pen name of Steve Rune Lundin, a Canadian novelist with training in both archeology and anthropology.

His best-known work is the ten-volume fantasy series Malazan: The Book of the Fallen, which had sold 250,000 copies as of 2006. Sf Site has called the series "the most important work of epic fantasy since the Chronicles of Donaldson's Thomas Covenant" and Fantasy Book Review described it as "the best fantasy series in recent memory". Fantasy writer and fellow writer Stephen Donaldson calls Erikson "an extraordinary writer." In an interview with sffworld.com, Erikson acknowledged his initial doubts about the potential success of the series, so his popularity in the aftermath came as a real surprise. He also mentioned that people "hate or love this show".
