Tulio Halperin Donghi was born in Buenos Aires on October 27, 1926. He graduated from the National College of Buenos Aires in 1944 and completed his studies at the University of Buenos Aires where he received his law professor in History and a Ph.D. in History (1955) . He also completed graduate studies in France.
He has taught at the Universities of Buenos Aires, Nacional del Litoral, the Republic and Oxford, among others. Currently he is a professor at the University of Berkeley and the University of San Andrés (UdeSA).
He was elected Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts at the National University of Rosario. As such it has defended and applied the principles of the university reform. He was also Director of the Library of the Argentine Thought.
He received two Platinum Awards Konex Letters discipline in History in 1994 and 2004.
