Wilhelm Furtwängler

Wilhelm Furtwängler (Berlin, 1886 - Baden-Baden, 1954) was a director of several orchestras, including the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to directing concerts and operas, he was invited to all important music centers and festivals director and devoted much of his time to the composition; among his works include three symphonies, a Te Deum, a symphonic concerto for piano and orchestra and two sonatas for violin.
