The editorial vocation of El Colegio de México has its origins in 1938, the year of the foundation of the House of Spain in Mexico, its historical background. That same year the first book in its library history is published: the clown of the slap of León Felipe Camino. Since then, the school has had as one of its main tasks the publication of the work of the researchers of their studies. It has also been dedicated to the dissemination of prominent authors of other national and foreign institutions. With a catalog that amounts to more than 2600 titles, every year they see light between 80 and 90 books, in printed and electronic version, in addition to eight printed periodic publications - studies of Asia and Africa, demographic and urban studies, economic studies, international forum , Sociological Studies, Mexican History, New Journal of Hispanic Philology, Editorial Bulletin of El College of Mexico - and four electronic magazines: Asia Pacific Yearbook, Linguistic Notebooks, Interdisciplinary Magazine of Gender Studies and other dialogues.
