Ediciones Ekaré is a publishing house that publishes books for children and young people. The word ekaré was taken from the language of the Pemón ethnic group that lives in the southeast of Venezuela. It means new or true narrative and, in a larger context, simply story or tale.
Ediciones Ekaré was created in 1978 and its main objective, to make quality books, is directly related to the experience in public and school libraries of Banco del Libro, a Venezuelan institution known internationally for its work to promote reading.
Today our books reach many countries, but the initial intention remains the same: to offer children and young people meaningful books from our culture and from different parts of the world.
