In Marxism, the levels of analysis refer to the various degrees of abstraction and concretion that the explanation of social reality demands from the perspective of making human intervention possible in its transformation. This intervention is particularly relevant in revolutions against capital, where, for the first time in history, human actions oriented in this or that direction have an impact on favoring political transformation and defining the world that follows. This makes it possible that now, with all propriety, we can speak of humans making history in a strong sense.

The situation is the most concrete level of analysis, first because of the multiple determinations that intervene in its definition and meaning. But perhaps much more relevant is the fact that, in its greatest concreteness, the situation is the synthesis of all the levels that precede it and this means that it is at this level where the power of conscious transformative human force reaches its greatest expression.

In this way, the situation is the political level par excellence. It is at the juncture where all the contradictions and crises inherent to capital achieve expression and meaning. The revolution against capital is possible and necessary, but it requires the conscious action of the exploited, oppressed and dominated. Only in the conjuncture are those crises and those contradictions feasible of intervention and of converting them into processes of accumulation of force. In the situation, theory becomes praxis and praxis becomes theory, merging into a unity with the power to radically transform the prevailing order.
