The book brings together nine collaborations that address, from different perspectives, ongoing problems. One of its purposes is to constitute an important assistant for young researchers and experts eager for innovative perspectives.

The compilation places the reader in a historical dimension of global and local problems, where efforts at synchronic and diachronic approximation are developed. In Mexico we have reached a canon of studies on violence; This book does not skimp when mentioning local or Latin American thinkers.

It is a critical literature about its own time where it theorizes about emerging violence and collective suffering: forced migrations, symbolic capitalization, colonial exploitation of a global world and organized crime, among other issues.
