The measurement of poverty is essential to understand the situation of society; Using an arbitrary threshold trivializes the discussion about the magnitude of poverty and makes an adequate diagnosis of the social situation impossible. Hence, the main methodological contribution of this work is, precisely, to break down the various multidimensional methods of measuring this phenomenon (OPHI-UNDP, CONEVAL and MMIP) from a critical perspective and a thorough analysis.
