Despite the capital importance of Federico García Lorca in the construction of the history of flamenco, until now all the writings and texts that he dedicated to the subject had not been collected in a volume. This edition includes, in addition to the three conferences where he generates his ideas in greater depth, various interventions, poems, letters and interview fragments in which flamenco appears as an explicit object of study, which allows us to get a more exact idea of the genesis of terms such as "cante jondo", "negro sounds" or "duende", of his positions around the question of patriotism and the popular, or of the conception that he handled of the gypsy and the parallelism between this and the American black.
