Political scientists describe and explain the policy; philosophers examine it critically and suggest improvements and sometimes radically different social traits. In other words, political philosophers proposed scenarios and dreams where social scientists offer snapshots of existing political organizations. Political philosophy is not a luxury but a necessity, crucial for understanding current affairs and, above all, to think about a better future. But for providing such a service, this discipline should form part of a coherent system that also owned a realistic theory of knowledge, a humanist ethics and worldview consistent with contemporary science and art.
