On the eve of the celebration of the Vatican Summit against abuses, which will be held from February 21 to 24 in Rome, Pope Francis shares this work with the reader with his reflections arising from tumultuous times for the Church. In them he reflects his personality and thought, as well as his way of facing the tribulations.
The work is divided into two parts. The first consists of a collection of eight letters from two general fathers of the Society of Jesus, Lorenzo Ricci and Jan Roothaan. They were written in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries at a time when the Company suffered doubts and persecutions. They also constitute a treatise about the tribulation and the way of coping with it.
