With reflections and practical proposals, animals in bioethics defends the valorization of animal ethics in global bioethics so that it acts as a tool for critical analysis, education, awareness and change in favor of all animals, human and non-human.

Bioethics implies the questioning at the ethical, social, legal or philosophical level of everything related to the biological sciences. Although at first it was thought only for humans, over time the need to expand moral obligations towards all living beings has arisen. Our news requires an extension of the moral register to answer new questions, among them: how are animals treated by people?

The present work studies and reflects on the current state of global bioethics in order to overcome anthropocentric tendencies. Divided into two parts, the first analyzes the concepts of "sentience and interests" in animals from some of the most widespread theories - utilitarianism, contractualism and egalitarianism - while the second questions and analyzes the use of animals in industrial and research livestock.
