John Fischl on 7 March 1900 in Tobay (Burgenland / Hungary at that time), the son of a small farmer born. 1907 after he moved Sinabelkirchen proved gifted child in 1911 and was incorporated into the Episcopal seminary in Graz, where he graduated in 1919 with honors. 1919-1923 he studied theology at the University of Graz, was ordained a priest in 1922 and in 1925 received his doctorate in theology.
