Through thirteen selected interesting clinical cases, this work illustrates the complicated relationship between mother and son / daughter in the family. The author aims to provide an explanation, from a psychoanalytic approach to the problems that lead today to a high and alarming number of adults to inquiries from psychiatrists and psychotherapists. Conditions that require further attention are often psychological disturbances and / or character of the personality whose origins date back to the relationship with the central character of the child: the mother. The study aims to raise awareness and mothers and parents in their difficult task of educating and helping to break, or mitigate, the chain of trauma, as demonstrated in the book, is doomed calibrating the different generations, sometimes, alcoholism, drug addiction, neurosis or other characteropathies.
