This book is a supplement to a previous volume of this collection (Indian Myths of Argentina: animals, No. 160), and the myths exposed here belong to the same ethnic groups: tuffs (his autodenominación is komlek), wichís, mocovíes, tehuelches, Yamana (also known as yaganes) and ones (selk'nam). The stories collected by Nahuel Sugobono for this volume have been taken almost without modifications- of records made by important indigenous anthropologists themselves, during the twentieth century.
