This book proposes an approach to the study of the presence of women in the field of astronomy in Mexico, starting from the decade of the 40s of the twentieth century, with the arrival of Paris Pişmiş (or Pishmish as her last name was Hispanicized), but starting from the idea that the boom of feminism and gender studies during the following decades, would mark a milestone in the history of the participation of women in science in general. The main objective that has been raised for this research, is to provide a place within the study of contemporary history to a subject that has been worked on in academic circles only very recently: the presence of women who have actively participated in science, specifically in Astronomy and Astrophysics in Mexico.
