The book is organized into five large parts, which deal with the biological and social dimensions of culture, kinship, marriage and family, economics, power and social organization, the significant dimensions of human societies (language, art, religion and ideology), and a final part on the evolution of societies from the discoveries to the present, as well as on the role of anthropology in this "global society." All this is accompanied by a series of examples, collected in boxes within the text, which allow the reader to clearly verify the theoretical contents presented by the author.
