These are some of the questions proposed to us by the philosopher of Belgian science Vinciane Despret (1959) in this book in which she demonstrates that, above all, she is a great storyteller. He weaves them with care, humor, surprise and irony, and sometimes with a little anger. Stories of scientific mysteries, of experiments, of field investigations, of zoos, of natural history, of annoying neighbors and judicial cases involving animals.
Each one of the entries in this alphabet proposes a "correct question" through which the animals adapt themselves to the nuclei of our culture, such as the way of understanding the art (A of the Artist), the intellectual traditions (E of Espejo), the interests of legitimization of the saber (H of making scientist), the modes of political exclusion (J of Justice) or the relationship between power and sexuality (Z of Zoophilia).
The work of Descripcion participates in the so-called "animal turn" in the social sciences and cultural criticism, echoing the studies of Donna Haraway, Isabelle Stengers and Bruno Latour.
