Federico Bermúdez-Cañete is Professor of Spanish Literature (retired) at the University of Granada. Since 1982 he has been oriented towards the study of Spanish-German literary relations. With articles and lectures on Rainer Maria Rilke's influence on Spanish poetry, and books such as Anthology of German Romanticists and Hölderlin's Poetic Anthology. But his specialty is verse translation, as well as research on Rilke's themes, which has been manifested in Rilke's books, Rilke's Poetic Theory, New Poems I, New Poems II, Love Poetry, and The Poems Book (The Last Four , In Hyperion).
This volume, the fruit of years of work, analyzes the different phases of Rilke's work in the context of his biography.
