El sueño de la muerte (2013), El sueño del amor (2014) and El sueño de la vida (2015), published in Hiperión, were thought by their author as a trilogy that is now brought together in a single book in which he stands out its poetic coherence. The Trilogy contains a journey that can only be traveled with poetry and from a dream perspective.
The poetic subject begins a path that begins after death, as in the Wallace Stevens poem, Of mere being:... there where the mind ends, past the last thought" and on that path life and death mix in landscapes exteriors and interiors full of beauty, light, shadows, wounds, sadness and hope, after all memories and desires that inhabit that human dream of transcendence that furrows the brain from the first voice of intelligence.
Each book has three parts making up nine poetic chapters. The last one is called The Mother. It is the end in the beginning. Or the beginning in the end. as the reader wishes.
Manuel Juliá was born in Puertollano (Ciudad Real) and has published De umbría (1998), Timeless (2003), About the Flower Volcano (2009), Forty Heartbeats (2009), Red Hot Glory (2010) and Gods of Fire and air (2012). In 2012, the Association of Spanish Writers and Artists awarded him the Clarín de Cuentos Award, for La región del olvido. The Association of Poetry Publishers declared El sueño de la vida as the best collection of poems published in 2015. He collaborates in the newspapers El Mundo, Marca and La Tribuna (Castilla La-Mancha and Castilla-León).
