Claude Debussy (1862-1918), one of the most important composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, was the founder of the impressionist school of music and forerunner of most modern movements. Roger Nichols immerses us in the life and work of this great composer, outlining tumultuous facts of the era in which other humans would have been trapped beyond repair. Despite this, Debussy had a great capacity for friendship, as evidenced by his extraordinary relationship with Paul Dukas and André Caplet, and for love, deeply filled in his relationship with his daughter Chouchou.
