He teaches history of modern constitutions in the Faculty of Law at the University of Florence. His work is dedicated to the task of rebuilding constitutionalism from its roots, with a rigor and such a fortune that led him to become one of today's leading growers of specialty. He is the author, among other books, of Constitution. From Antiquity to the present day (2001) and Fundamental rights. Notes on the history of constitutions (2003), both published in the Editorial, and is editor of The Modern State in Europe.
