Carlos Pereda a member of the Institute for Philosophical Research of the UNAM (Mexico) and has been guest lecturer at several universities in America and Europe. He has held the presidency of both the Philosophical Association of Mexico and the American Society of Philosophy.
In 1998 he received the Award of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in the Humanities.

He has published books Debates (1989); Talk is human (1991); Reason and uncertainty (1994), Vertigo arguments. A dispute ethics (1194)Dreams homeless. An essay on philosophy, morality and literature (1998), Critique of arrogant. Four civilians pamphlets (1999); exile learning (2008) and numerous articles in professional journals.
