Ales Steger (1973) is one of the most brilliant and eclectic representatives of the new Slovenian literature. Cosmopolitan writer, translator, literary critic, photographer, globetrotter, Steger is also the creator and organizer of festivals and literary events. He is the author of several anthologies of poetry, several translations and a travelogue. He has been editor of some collections of Slovenian poets and has translated, among others, Pablo Neruda, Gottfried Benn and Ingeborg Bachmann.
With Berlin won in Slovenia Marjan Rožanc ex quo Award for the best essay of 2007.
